Sugar Shack on Main Street is closed

The candy shop that opened in 1995 told customers the chapter was over in a Nov. 2 post.

Sugar Shack, the downtown Bastrop candy shop that had been open since 1995, is closed. The staff said so in a social post on Nov. 2, calling the decision hard and thanking long-time customers and workers.

The shop was known for bulk and nostalgic candy, handmade fudge, caramel apples, and frozen treats, plus gifts and party orders. Community Impact reported the notice; the storefront is no longer taking that trade.
