Elgin ISD board puts off a call on the superintendent

Trustees met Thursday after Superintendent Christopher Bailey’s DUI charge and did not decide his future that night.

The Elgin ISD board met Thursday and left Superintendent Christopher Bailey’s status unresolved after a recent driving-under-the-influence charge.

The Elgin Courier reports trustees delayed a decision on what comes next. Bailey remains the named subject of the charge; the board has not published a final personnel action from that meeting.

School status for students is separate from that personnel question. Watch the district for any further board notice.
